Colorful Snood Goodness!

It's been a pretty busy week and a half around here filling orders. I had such a variety of colors ordered that I thought I would take the opportunity to photograph them together. I had more after these were taken but these had to ship. I also made up the medium blue and the flamingo pink for the first time. I think they are my 2 new favorites!

Remembering Jean Simmons

The world has lost another beauty today. The lovely Jean Simmons died in her home at the age of 80. She is most remembered for her roles in Elmer Gantry, Guys and Dolls, and Spartacus. She will be missed.

Set Your DVR's

On Tuesday night TCM will be airing one of my all time favorite classic films at 8pm EST. The Major and The Minor from 1942. If you are a fan of Ginger Rogers and have never seen this film, you must! I first saw it when I was very little and never forgot it. Later when I saw it again in my teens it quickly became one of my very favorites and a film I must have seen at least 80 times. No I am not kidding! I even kept a running tally once when I was young to see how many times I could watch it. It is a fun film and I think you will love it too. It also stars two of my other favorites Diana Lynn and Robert Benchley. Here is the trailer for a sneak peak. I hope you check it out!

Arthelia's Grandbaby

When my cousin was expecting her baby I knew exactly what I wanted to make her for her sweet baby boy. What could be more perfect then a gift made from one of her Grandmother's patterns! I chose this pattern for a ribbed knit cardigan from a vintage early 1940's booklet. I loved the little collar and thought it would suit a little boy perfectly. I chose green for his Irish heritage. Although this little guy is almost two now, and is outgrowing his little sweater, he still seems to be quite pleased with it!

I would love to someday add some of these wonderful baby goodies to my shop, they are so unique and beautiful in design. Maybe one day......

Baby It's Cold Outside

If you are a doll collector, you know that even your dollies get cold in the winter! I had a customer request for a knitted winter coat for her Mary Hoyer doll. She also asked for a striped scarf and matching cap with pom pom. Now, there isn't a vintage Hoyer pattern that matches this description so I took three different patterns, altered them and came up with this result. I think this doll, looks down right cozy and I hope my client thinks so too! What do YOU think??
